Happy Diwali - Deepam

Hello Crafty Folks,

This is my 3rd Diwali card, and again with a different theme! This time it is the traditional Deepam (or) Diya :)

This one is a super easy card! I stamped the Deepam image from Mudra's Deepam stampset onto vellum using Versamark ink. I then heat embossed the image with gold embossing powder. Similary I stamped the sentiment from Mudra's Crackers stampset and heat embossed with gold. I've then colored the Deepam using distress ink, added a few gold sequins for more interest. This embossed vellum is then attached to the base which is the red crackers sheet from Nakshathra Designz's Diwali patterned paper stack :)

A few more shots!

Happy Diwali with Ria :)

Hello!

Today I'm here with a Diwali themed card made for a close friend :) Sneak peek? :)

Any guesses to who she is? Yes, you might have got it right! She is Ria, from Mudra :) I so love her! Beautiful design with Indian attire, the confidence in her walk! When I thought of a Diwali card, I wanted it to be different and I felt Ria had the perfect charm for the festival!

So here is the full reveal of the card I made.

I've used Bielo cs as the base. Stamped Ria onto the cs using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Colored using Fuji transparent water folios, Distress inks and Altenew inks. The crackers and sentiment are again from Mudra - Crackers stampset. I stamped the crackers using different colors of distress inks, and sentiment using versafine onyx black.

Once I finished the stamping and coloring, I felt she needed more glitter and shine :) So there goes the magic trick, using a gold glitter pen :)

I randomly added golden strokes to the crackers, an outline to the sentiment - and that gives a great 3d effect too! Then I drew some stars on Ria's dress, added golden border to her dress and also to the shoes :) Here are some more close up pics of the card! I love the shine and the golden shimmer! Isn't is perfect for Diwali? :)

Cards For A Cause - Soldiers' Drive

Hello Everyone,

This is my first time I participated in making cards for a cause!
There is this amazing group in Facebook "Cards For A Cause - India" that conducts drives for different causes and crafters contribute by making cards and sending them out. So this particular one was for the soldiers, and I made a set of 14 Thank you cards, for all the service they do!

I followed the exact measurements and tutorial from this link, that uses one single 12x12 paper. I've used this colorful patterned paper from Nakshathra Desigz - Birthday theme pack. The base cardstock is of different colors and apart from the Thank You sentiment (stamped), I've also added my own handwritten sentiment that says 'You Color Our Life'!

Here are the close up pics of the 14 cards.

Sweet Wishes - ATC

Hello,

There goes another ATC :)

Similar to the previous one, I have used Bielo cs, stencil script and distress inks for creating the background. I sprinkled a little water to create a nice effect. Once dry, I've added a flower I bought from Itsy Bitsy store and stamped the sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black ink.

Spread Your Wings - ATC

Hello,

Here is a quick ATC I made!

For the background, I've taken a Bielo cardstock and used Brown pigment ink pad gifted by Itsy Bitsy store. I did some light stencil work using the Script stencil from Itsy Bitsy and then stamped a few butterflies (from Martha Stewart) all using the same brown ink. I love this tone on tone effect. I've then stamped the sentiment from Mudra's Humming Birds stampset, fussy cut the label and attached using foam tape. To add more interest, I've added a line of pearls.

Emboss Resist - ATC

Hello,

Today I have an ATC to share with you all :)

I loved making this one, with the emboss resist technique! I took Bielo cardstock, trimmed to the size of ATC, and applied Versamark ink through TCW Damask stencil. I added white embossing powder and heat gun the stenciled image. Then I used 3 colors of Distress inks and went over the cs to create the beautiful colorful background. I wanted the main elements to be simple, so I've added the flower (from Itsy Bitsy store) and a stamped sentiment using foam tape to finish the ATC :)

Diwali Squash Card - Guest Designer at Nakshathra Designz

Hello!

This is going to be a special post :) I'm so excited to be a Guest Designer at Nakshathra Designz! Thank you so much Aksh for this opportunity :) Check out the blog post here and do leave some love :)

I'm going to share a Diwali project created using the 'Sparkling Diwali' patterned paper stack. The designs are so festive and perfect for the occasion, they get you into the mood of Diwali so early :) And these papers are super thick and perfect for cards and projects that are sturdy!

Onto my project, I tried a squash card for the first time. It is a very simple and interactive card. I followed a couple of tutorials from YouTube and it is easy to make as well. I made the base of the squash card using red textured cardstock.

I wanted the card to be sparkling with colors symbolic to the festival, and hence used almost all the designs of pp from the stack :) I've used the diecut sheets for the sentiments. I've also stamped sentiments from Mudra's Crackers stampset - 'Have a Blast' and the one in Tamil that says 'Iniya Deepavali Nalvaazhthukkal', translating to 'Happy Diwali Wishes' :) I love this first Tamil stampset, as it gives a personal touch to the card :)

For the cover of the card, I've used the diyas pp and the diya from the diecut sheet, and attached them using foam tape. Bordered with pearls to add some interest. And the card is done :) Simple and easy!
